Just a Thought | Monday

It's monday today - can you tell by looking at my kitchen?
I promise I didn't eat all those pizzas by myself!
It took me more than 1 cup of coffee to get me going this morning,
but I successfully dragged myself out of bed before noon.
I got up at 9! Believe it or not.
It was tough, let me tell you!

BUT, and I'm very proud of this, I may only have been up for about 4 hours,
but I've already cleaned the kitchen, done almost all of the dishes,
cleaned up the livingroom, dusted off a couple of shelves,
and I've had both breakfast AND lunch!
Whew!

This is why I'll be spending the rest of the afternoon on the couch.

Happy monday everyone.

Just a Thought | Lost

Is it just me, or does January seem to be absolutely endless?
I'm not supposed to care, I know, since I'm on break,
but it's like I feel a little lost.
I have no clue what to do with all this time on my hands.
I mostly just sleep in and watch tv,
which is not at all how I imagined I would be spending my break.
I thought I'd be reading novels,
baking lots,
crocheting new things,
doing lots of DIYs.
I only have a week left,
and from now on I will strive to make the most of my break.
Although I'll probably still sleep in and watch too much tv.

I did get a little project checked off my list today.
I've been looking for a way to organize my long necklaces for
quite a while,
and yesterday I found the perfect way.
Today, hubs drilled a couple of holes in the wall,
et voilá.

Aren't they precious?!

This is my life | Off

Yesterday I finished my last exam for this semester.
Now I have 9 glorious days off, before next semester starts.
I plan on being very busy doing as little as possible.

DIY | Gift wrapping

People have called me weird because of this,
but I absolutely love wrapping presents.
I actually spent hours wrapping and re-wrapping presents this past Christmas.
I realize some (most) people don't really appreciate the wrapping,
as it's the thing inside that's got them all excited,
but I love giving people presents that are creatively wrapped.
Even if it's taken me several tries to get the wrapping just right,
and they tear it open in mere seconds,
it's still fulfilling to me.

I think the thing that fascinates me is how simple it is to make it beautiful.
You don't need to add all sorts of frills and decorations,
just a little creative thought.

Brown paper, mason string from hubby's toolbox, and a stamp.
The beauty is in the simplicity.

Just a Thought | Snow

Sooo.. the snow is back.
I love snow, I really do.
It's just that we've had 2 weeks of mild weather,
and what felt like spring showers,
and then, suddenly, we're freezing again.

Obelix doesn't seem to mind - he loves playing in the snow.
I don't think I mind that much either.
I'm going to use it as an excuse to make more Christmas goodies
and listen to more Christmas music.

Not too shabby.
